U.S. President Barack Obama clarified on Saturday that he was not endorsing the idea of putting a mosque near Ground Zero in a speech the previous night, but rather supporting the right of the facility to be there.
"I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making a decision to put a mosque there," he said during his family trip to Florida. "I was commenting very specifically on the right that people have that dates back to our founding."
His intention "was simply to let people know what I thought," Obama said. "Which was that in this country we treat everybody equally and in accordance with the law, regardless of race, regardless of religion."
Whoa Barack baby, that is some serious back peddling. He more or less says that they have every right to build their camel molesting facility, but not so close to the hallowed ground of zero.
"Equally regardless of race, regardless of religion". That is a fine concept indeed. And I'm sure that there are numerous catholic churches opening up in downtown Riyadh. I'm sure their priests have a hunger for small brown boys.
Talk about embracing your enemy. Keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer.
And they are part of the beautiful people of this planet.
